Passed to the Degree of Fellowcraft

Newly Passed Brothers Ivan Perdomo and Marco Ruiz

On Monday, June 20, 2011, Nutley Lodge conferred the Fellowcraft degree on Brothers Ivan Perdomo and Marcu Ruiz.  Before receiving the degree, they performed their Entered Apprentice proficiencies quite admirably. That speaks volumes of their mentors: a nice job done by the Membership Development Committee. For a further look at the Fellowcraft Degree, please reference the post about it on the "February" link to the left of this post. The Worshipful Master wished the brethren a wonderful summer, as this was the final meeting before the same. Have a great summer!

Second Annual Father's Day Motorcycle Run

On Father's Day, Sunday, June 19, 2011, Nutley Lodge held its Second Annual Motorcycle Run. Delicious pancakes were prepared by Br. Dommenick Abbate before the run kicked off. Approximately twenty riders participated in the run which was escorted by the Blue Knights of Newark, NJ. Many thanks to those fine gentlemen! Even Br. David Allen Reed stopped by on his motorcycle much to the delight of many of the brothers in attendance. The run took us to the 9/11 Memorial in West Orange and to a tour of Br. George Smith's nightclub, 466! R.W. Ira Drucks from Livingston Lodge joined us as well. Enjoy the pictures below!!!

'The Historical and Philosophical Jephthah Judge of Israel'

Our Lamp of Knowledge Lecture Series resumed on Monday, June 6, 2011 when Brother Nirio Garcia, Senior Deacon of Sons of Liberty Lodge No. 301 in Secaucus, NJ, visited our lodge. This evening, he enlightened the brethren with a very well prepared presentation entitled 'The Historical and Philosophical Jephthah Judge of Israel'.

The brethren, battling the hot and steamy evening, learned that Jephthah served as a judge over Israel for a period of six years. He lived in Gilead and was a member of the Tribe of Manasseh. His father's name was also Gilead. At the conclusion of the lecture, Bro. Garcia was presented with a Masonic Education Award for his work, a book on masonic symbolism, and a 2011 lodge pin!
